Canadian Military Tradition

I often wonder where some get the idea that our Canadian military are traditionally peacekeepers.
In the last century, over 1.5 million Canadians fought for this country in two world wars and the Korea War. Thousands have died for this country. In that same century just over 125,000 Canadians have served on peacekeeping tours of duty. Before anyone gets the idea that peacekeeping is ‘soft’ duty, talk to some of those who served in places like Bosnia, Somalia and Rwanda.
