Courts Being Stacked? — What Else is New?

It appears that the boy Harper’s government, which of course is the boy, is deliberately moving to stack the committees which make the recommendations to the government on the appointment of new judges with Conservatives. More specificially, the move appears to facilitate the appointment of conservative judges which support what Harper deems to be a ‘law and order’ agenda.
Will the Conservatives Obey New Law?

It appears the party who ran on a platform of ‘law and order’ and ‘those who obey the rules benefit’ are about to have their standards tested. The House of Commons yesterday passed a law compelling the government (aka the Conservatives at the moment) to honour Canada’s commitment to Kyoto. The bill passed yesterday has to yet pass the Senate which is predominantly Liberal and as such will likely pass it fairly quickly.
