As I understand it, George Galloway was denied permission to enter Canada as he provided material support to a terrorist organization. Specifically, he led an aid convoy into Gaza and handed over financial aid to the Hamas government which Canada has deemed to be a terrorist organization. I further understand it is illegal for any Canadian to provide support to a terrorist organization.
The Tamil Tigers were declared a terrorist organization by this current government. That would make it illegal to provide support to them. The Tigers have been known to carry out their terrorist behaviour here in this country through extracting ‘insurance’ from Tamil business owners. I don’t think it is a stretch to suggest that Tigers would be involved in our drug trade here in this country in their ongoing efforts to finance their war in Sri Lanka where they are known for pressing children into becoming soldiers for their cause.
So, can someone tell me by what right these terrorist supporters in downtown Ottawa are being allowed to impede the operations of the nations’ capital? Who provided the permits and why are police and emergency services resources being tied up to allow them their protest? Since when do we allow the assembly, peaceful or otherwise, of outlawed organizations?
This is no freedom of protest issue, when you are supporting an illegal organization, there is no right to protest. What’s next? We going to start allowing the Taliban or Al Queda to stage protests in Canada?
This government declared the Tamil Tigers to be illegal, so why is the government not moving to see that this protest is brought to a halt and no further protests are allowed anywhere in Canada? David Harris of INSIGNIS Strategic Research Inc and a former head of CSIS raises some very interesting points today in the Ottawa Citizen. Some of the comments on the story are rather interesting as well.
The government wants to show it is tough on crime, maybe it should start with bringing to an abrupt halt this gathering in support of an illegal terrorist organization.

How can the Canadian government..step in on this issue…I cant see how they can..really..!!
If the Tamil Tigers wont allow anyone in their country..nothing we can do..is there..?
Unless you invade the country…like what happened to Irag..and Afghanistan
So what they want us to do…we cant send reporters in to get killed…no since to that…is there…
Quite sure if we did thats what would happen to them…
And if we raged a war on them..and forced the Tigers out….next thing we be blamed for killing their familys like what is happening in Irag and Afghanistan

Even in Irag we captured criminals who have murdered thousands and more….
And here we are getting blamed for mistreating them in a prison…
What about the poor people they mistreated and even slaughtered…they dont have a voice…

Same thing well happen with the Tamils…Nothing the Canadian Government can do…far as I see…
Sure we can demand they cease fire and stop the killing…

We have done alot more…Americans and candaians. British and more have died to protect other countries…and we get ridiculed after wards for it…
I done hate no one….or being predigest ….If they want to protest its their countries they should protest against ……………..NOT OURS….we spend millions in aid if not Billions….but the poor people well never see it as their Government probably takes it from them….
