New Categories
| 5/4/2006 | Posted by Patti under Site News |
I’ve realigned some of my posts into new categories. I’ve added Brave Canadians which I pray will be a category which sees very few posts. It is for notices of the deaths of Canadians in Afghanistan. For other comments about the war in Afghanistan I’ve created a category called … really creative here… Afghanistan.
While Political Comments is a nice dumping ground for all things political that is a pretty big subject so occasionally I’ll add political categories like The Boy Harper which will contain postings about guess who.. Stephen Harper… as you can guess, I have huge regard for the boy. I’ve also added a Liberal Leadership category. I hesitated to name it that but with any luck we’ll actually see a leader emerge from the numerous Liberals, former Conservatives and former NDP who have thrown their hat in the ring.

I’m shifting gears a bit with this blog, not a lot but some. This blog will be used primarily for my comments on news stories while Ides of May, a blog site I’ve had for a while without a focus will now become my place to hang out with more personal material. Some of the personal material from here will be carried over there.
Site Stats

I know for some of you the visitor stats for Out of the Shadows would be pretty small potatoes but for someone who is still learning about this whole area of the internet, I’m not feeling badly about them. In January 2005 I had 2 visitors to Out of the Shadows. In February that jumped to 970 visits, about 35 a day. In December I had 2800 visits, about 67 a day. Total visitors for the year 24,289. I’m good with that and am looking for 2006 to increase even more. READ MORE
A New High

Just checking this site’s stats for August. I had 929 visitors last month. That is the most visitors this blog has ever had. I know for some, that would be one day but hey… you can’t grow until you creep a bit.

I’ve put up a static page with a list of websites and blogs I come across based in Cramahe Township / Colborne, Ontario. That is my home base so just a neighbourly gesture to provide a link to fellow area members.
Niece is A Comin & More

There is a long weekend this week, although it is not a stat holidy so not everyone will get it off. I’ve booked three days off next week. My niece, Megan, is heading to Montreal today for a weekend reunion with some of those she was in Katimavik with. She should have a blast. She’s booked her train back to Cobourg instead of London so I can pick her up and we can spend a day or so together. She has to Read the rest of this entry »

Canadian Blog Ranking
| 5/22/2005 | Posted by Patti under Site News |
Angry in T.O. over at Angry in the Great White North has done a great job of setting up a ranking system for Canadian blogs. If you run a Canadian based blog you should pay a visit and get setup. I’m an insignificant microbe in the Canadian blogosphere at the moment. Guess that means I’m young and barely scratched life as a blogger.
